February 11th 2019 marks the day our first Indigenous Knowledge Centre, Cherbourg Aboriginal Council’s Winifred Fisher Indigenous Knowledge Centre - joins the Aurora your local library network! Winifred Fisher Indigenous Knowledge Centre (IKC) is owned and operated by Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council (CASC). The Centre is part of a network of 24 IKCs throughout Queensland, owned and operated by Indigenous Shire Councils, supported by State Library. The Centre is managed by Martina Jacobs IKC Manager and Sophia Jacobs, IKC Coordinator. The IKC was previously located in Cherbourg State School and was reopened on 4 July 2016 in the previous Child and Welfare Maternal Clinic, Barambah Avenue, Cherbourg. On February 11, Winifred Fisher IKC received new items to refresh their current library collection thanks to State Library of Queensland.

Thousands of ebooks, magazines, audio and online music and film. We provide access to a large number of authoritative eresources: online journals, newspapers and websites, online training courses, company information, legislation, music scores and recordings and encyclopedias. Much of this information in the eresources is not available freely elsewhere on the web.


Free self-paced tutorials, online classes and videos on a range of topics including technology, math, career and everyday life skills.
