You can join online or in person at any RLQ library or IKC.

- Online ebooks, eaudiobooks and emagazines
- Borrow books, magazines, DVDs, Languages other than English (LOTE) and more
- Reserve items, and collect them from your preferred pick-up location (for online and full members only)
- Research your family history with Ancestry Library Edition (in library only)
- Use the services and spaces within the libraries and IKCs
Online membership
Online membership is available to residents who live within the RLQ or IKC area, and gives you immediate access to ebooks, eaudiobooks and emagazines and more.
Your Online membership is valid for 2 years.

RLQ and IKC membership (full membership)
RLQ and IKC membership is available to residents who live within the RLQ library or IKC area and offers access to the full range of online and physical collections and services.
To upgrade your Online membership, please visit in person with identification and proof of your residency.
If you are under 18, you are required to register in person with your parent or guardian, who must show proof of their name and residency.
Your RLQ and IKC membership is valid for 2 years.

Tourist membership
Tourist Membership is available for anyone travelling in rural Queensland and gives you immediate access to online resources while on the road.
To borrow the physical collections, visit any of our RLQ library or IKC with proof of name and address.
Your Tourist membership is valid for 6 months.

Update your details
Visit or contact your local RLQ library or IKC. OR
Log in to the library catalogue and select My Account. You can make changes to your home address, phone, and email, as well as update your password. If you make changes to your contact details, remember to bring in identification with proof of name and residential address when you next visit the library.
Renew your membership
Visit or contact your local RLQ library or IKC to renew your membership. Your membership will be renewed for a further 2 years.
We will email you a reminder to renew your membership one month before your membership is due to expire.
Make sure your membership has your current email address so you don’t miss out on the reminders!
Tourist members must renew their membership in person at any RLQ library or IKC. Your membership will be renewed for an additional 6 months.
Change your password or PIN
Visit or contact your local RLQ library or IKC. OR
Log in to the library catalogue and select My Account from the menu. You can change your password here.
Forgot your membership barcode or PIN
Enter your email address here to receive your membership barcode number and prompt to change your PIN.
Your membership must have your current email address so we can email your login details.
If you have forgotten your password, visit or contact your local RLQ library or IKC for assistance.
Report a lost or stolen card
Visit or contact your local RLQ library or IKC.
Suggested forms of identification
If you do not have a current Queensland driver licence, the following is a list of suggested forms of identification:
- Bank statement
- Contract of purchase, current lease or rental document, mortgage or land ownership certificate
- Electricity, gas or telephone account
- Learners permit
- Local government rates notice
- Renewal notice for Queensland driver licence or vehicle registration
- Statement from an educational institution's administrator with name of student and residential address
- Student identification card
- Vehicle registration certificate
Physical or digital forms of identification are acceptable.
